Wales Somaliland Community honoured and thank Rt Hon Alun Michael, MP for his support for Somaliland

Wales Somaliland Community, has welcomed and praised Rt Hon Alun Michael, MP for Cardiff South & Penarth for taking the lead in re-launching Somaliland All Party Parliamentarian Group of both Houses of UK Parliament with membership of over 28 MPs and lords signing up at its first meeting.

Wales Somaliland Community Praises
Cardiff MP, Rt Hon Alun Michael, On Taking the Lead to Re-launch Somaliland All Party Parliamentary Group at the UK Houses of Parliament

Cardiff, Wales, Friday,16th July, 2010

Wales Somaliland Community, has today welcomed and praised Rt Hon Alun Michael, MP for Cardiff South & Penarth for taking the lead in re-launching Somaliland All Party Parliamentarian Group of both Houses of UK Parliament with membership of over 28 MPs and lords signing up at its first meeting.

Mr. Abdirahman Ahmed Awad, Wales Somaliland Community’s Chairman and Mr. Abdikarim Abdi Adan, Director of Somaliland Community said: “On behalf of the whole community, we express our deep appreciation and gratitude and we take this opportunity to thank Cardiff South & Penarth MP, Rt. Hon. Alun Michael, MP and all the MPs and Lords, who join up together to re-establish and launch “Somaliland all party British parliamentary group at houses of parliament”.

This is great news  from the UK Houses of Parliaments and is an added bonus to Somaliland,  following last week’s statement from  the British Prime Minister, who pledged to maintain UK engagement with Somaliland during the PM Question Time, Wednesday,7th July 2010”,

The Wales Somaliland , “We will continue to work to be a bridge and an advocated in developing an effective and long lasting mutual partnership between our two countries institutions both Parliaments and Governments and our people. Our Somaliland community, in Wales will continue to play a crucial role as Ambassadors for the UK and Somaliland.”

Finally, Wales Somaliland Community, look forward to continue building on the excellent relationships already established with Somaliland Government, Somaliland Houses of Representatives/House of Elders and to furthering the co-operation with UK Government and UK Parliament for the mutual benefits of both our two nations.

We call on Somaliland Community in the UK to lobby their MP’s and Lords to join the Somaliland All Party of British Parliamentarian Groups of both Houses of UK Parliament, whom we, all appreciate their support  and efforts on behalf of Somaliland.
